Noor Ophthalmology Research Center has been holding weekly scientific conferences know as "Wednesday meetings" since 1381. The addressee of these conferences, which are held between 6 and 9 pm every Wednesday, are the hospital's ophthalmologists and optometrists and the attending ophthalmologists receive 1.5 points for each Wednesday. In these conferences, issues such as journal club, re-education, introducing new instruments and machines, panel, video journal, patients' reports, hot talk and news are discussed. Optometrists that work for the hospital or associated clinics also meet monthly for scientific discussions.
The aim of such meetings is to update ophthalmologists and optometrists on recent scientific and technological findings and also reminding them of some scientific points that may have been forgotten in the course of time. Exchanging ideas on special patients and benefiting from the expertise of other colleagues are other aims of these meetings.
